The is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pushed up the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking advantage of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
